An artist vocation

An artist vocation is to send light into the human heart.

  1. Hi Pam,
Saw that you had joined my blog. Thank you. Love your artwork especially love Sweet Revenge below. Am confused about the brushes...are they digital. Not sure what they are? Am probably being really thick. I've been fascinated by encaustics for ages. What are best video's to watch and learn from. Happy Birthday for the 16th Jan mine was the 25. Pleased to meet you.. :)

  2. Hi Constance,
Thank you for you comments. The Sweet Revenge was done digitally with the brushes as listed. It was created on Photoshop, printed and used Golden medium to adhere to board. I then applied wax over top. I am curious to see how long this will actually last as the board was not prepared with traditional encaustic products.
I also have been fascinated with encaustics for awhile but found it very hard to find alot of information about it. I had the best luck by pulling up encaustic in Pinterest and went from there. I also used Youtube, there are some very good tutorials on there about encaustic. I have to admit, I researched ALOT before purchasing materials to start with. I did purchase two books "Embracing Encaustic" by Linda and William Womack and "Encaustic Mixed Media" by Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch which have been very helpful. As I mentioned, am just beginning with encaustic but truly love the look and the process...I have soooo much to learn yet.
Cathering, your little cloud girls are just fabulous, I guess its a girl thing that we never get tired of "little girls"/dolls.
    Pleased to meet you too!
